The 10 day festival offers a varied programme of workshops and performances. Each event is booked separately so that singers can tailor their festival experience to suit them. Durham Big Sing welcomes adult singers of all abilities. Most of our events are accessible to all levels of experience as the mix of voices is one of the magical aspects of the festival; enabling complete beginners to sing alongside seasoned choir veterans. Some sessions will be specifically aimed at first time singers or nervous beginners whilst others will be aimed at those already singing regularly.
Some of the events will also be open to accompanied young people but the focus of the festival is on adults. Each event will be booked separately so that singers can tailor their festival experience to suit them. The final Festival of Choirs day is only open to singers bookings as part of a group of 5 or more.

We recognise that, as a historic city, accessibility in Durham can be an issue, so we are putting in place measures to ensure people can access our events as easily as possible.
