Winter Warmer drop-in sessions with Unity Choir & The Singing Elf

Sing away the winter blues with heart-warming songs that will put a smile on your face.

Winter Warmers is a series of six drop-in sessions hosted by Unity Choir starting on 7th January 2020. Pop along as a one-off or join us for all six sessions on Tuesday evenings at The Hetton Centre. No commitment is required, you don't need to join the choir to take part and you can pay on the door for each session.

The sessions will be led by The Singing Elf – Rebecca McGarvie,  teaching a wide range of feel-good music including pop, gospel, musical theatre and world music to warm the mind, body & soul.

Following the huge success of our open sessions last summer we look forward to inviting friends both old and new to our drop-in to Winter Warmers. Whether it’s your first time, you’re just visiting or are thinking about joining a choir, all are welcome to come along.

Unity is a mixed voice community choir for adults who love singing but aren’t sure if they can! We welcome singers of all abilities, including complete beginners. You don't need any previous experience, you won't be asked to sing on your own and you don’t have to join the choir to take part.

For those singers looking to do some regular singing our Winter Warmers provide the perfect introduction to singing with Unity and you'll get the chance to join us and continue for the rest of the Spring Term if you wish.

About the Elf

I’m Rebecca McGarvie and I’m The Singing Elf! I've sung all my life and my greatest passion is giving others the confidence to enjoy singing in a group. As a vocal tutor I’ve worked with hundreds of singers from shy beginners to veteran divas. I previously ran a performing arts academy including a large adult community choir and have lots of experience leading groups in local communities. Still not sure it’s for you? Come along & try for your’elf!
