The Singing Elf is a Social Enterprise based in Pittington near Durham. We are now in the final stages of closing our organisation. Our Summer Sale provides individuals, groups and organisations with the opportunity to grab a bargain and get creative with us one last time. We have hundreds of crafts and jigsaws available for kids, adults and groups to enjoy.
In April 2024 we concluded all our public programmes, celebrating 7 incredible years with our final Project Sunset events. Over the past few months we've been working behind the scenes with our clients, supplying crafts to other organisations and reaching even more people in our local communities.
In July 2024 we launched our Sale Catalogue, packed full of our most popular crafts from projects over the past 4 years. First created during lockdown, our now famous Craft Packs will help our community continue to be creative in future whilst helping us raise much needed funds.

About Our Closure
Like many other community organisations, The Singing Elf has been affected by the increasing pressures of the rising cost-of-living, mixed with a fall in funding. After facing a number of challenges, it is with sadness that we now accept that our journey has come to an end.
Like most social enterprises, our income is a mix of grants and trade. This means that whilst some of our projects receive grant funding, we also rely on ticket sales and fundraising activities to match the rest of the costs. We also work with clients such as other community organisations who pay us to deliver services.
Over the past year, all of our income streams have diminished whilst our costs have risen and our fundraising has not reached the target required. Our Sale will help us to cover this shortfall, enabling us to meet our outstanding commitments before we cease trading later this summer, whilst helping people in our community one last time.
