Funded Packs

The Singing Elf is a Social Enterprise based in Pittington near Durham. We are delighted to have received funding to continue The Singfulness Project throughout Winter into 2021.

Following the success of our summer packs, we are now expanding the project to deliver packs into many more areas of Durham and Sunderland. To achieve this, we are delivering the project in stages.

Fully funded packs will be available to community groups, charities and organisations working with those adversely affected by the pandemic. If you work with a community organisation or group and would like to register your interest in the Activity Packs, please click on the button below to complete our online form.

A limited number of packs may also be available for individuals.

How the funded packs work

We know that lots of people are having a hard time right now, and want to bring a little bit of Singfulness to as many people as possible. Our funding is for specific areas, and allows us to offer a limited number of packs for FREE.

Our funded packs are available in two ways:

Through a group or organisation

If you are involved in a community group, charity or organisation that has contact with people who are vulnerable or at increased risk of isolation and lonliness as a result of COVID-19, we would like to hear from you. Simply complete the Community Group form, and we will contact you to finalise the details. We will then deliver all of the packs for your community members to one address, and ask that you distribute them to each individual - the delivery of the pack by a trusted and friendly face is one of the most highly valued things in our project.

As an individual

Not everyone is involved in a community organisation, so if you or someone you know someone could not get a pack through a group, then please complete the Individuals form. We will ask one of our volunteers to deliver the pack to your nominated recipient, or you may prefer to do this yourself.

PLEASE NOTE: As demand for our packs is high, we usually prioritise group bookings.

We Need Volunteers

Our team of dedicated volunteers are the engine that drives this project. If you are a community volunteer with an existing DBS check and live in any of the funded areas, you could volunteer to help us to spread a little joy and deliver the Activity Packs to residents and families.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Rob by email.

Who are the funded packs for?

COVID has affected so many of us, and in so many different ways. We are particularly aware of the pressure that the impact of lockdown and isolation can put on people's mental health, and this project is aimed at helping people who are having a hard time right now to find a little time for a mindful moment or creative fun.

Someone is eligible for our packs if they have are at increased risk of loneliness and isolation, or are more vulnerable to mental health issues as a result of COVID-19. This could include people who:

  • Are living alone and have limited contact with others
  • Have been separated from their usual support network
  • Have been poorly with COVID or are recovering from it
  • Have had a drop in income
  • Have a chronic illness or disability
  • Have been bereaved
  • Have to self isolate
  • Are the children of adults who have been affected
  • People who would not otherwise have access to the packs

Why are packs for sale?

As a Social Enterprise, we are expected to support our charitable aims through our trade, as well as through funding. You can support our project by purchasing packs for yourself or to send as gifts to anywhere in the UK.

Purchasing packs costs £12 for one, £22 for 2, or £10 each for 3 or more. We can offer the packs at these low prices because we are lucky to be supported by a team of hard-working and dedicated volunteers who help put the packs together.
