Adult Craft Sessions

Our adult, in-person sessions aim to give you a creative and mindful experience.

Each session will be based on a wellbeing theme such as kindness, gratitude, or courage. We include a mindful moment in our sessions to calm the mind and body as well as relate a lot of the crafting activities to mindfulness.  The sessions are very relaxed and involve a lot of chat and laughter. Don’t be put off if you feel you aren’t creative enough! These sessions teach you the basics for you to work on and enjoy.

Sessions for 2022

We are super excited to announce that thanks to new funding from Durham County Council, we can now launch our NEW craft programme for Spring 2022! We will be offering a variety of in-person craft sessions for both adults and families.

Weekly Adult Craft Courses

Pittington | Thursdays 1-2.30pm

A 4 Week Course on
Introduction to Embroidery
from Thursday 10th March 1-2.30pm

A beginners course to learn the basics of the relaxing craft of embroidery. During the 4 week you will be learning:

  • different techniques to transfer patterns onto fabric
  • how to prepare and start embroidery
  • basic embroidery stitches
  • decorative stitches

All of these techniques will be stitched onto a cotton tote bag which will result in a personalised bag for you to keep.

Our weekly craft courses give adults the chance to develop their skills and confidence with a specific craft form over a period of weeks. We understand that weekly attendance can be tricky, you're still welcome to attend if you can't make each week but might not progress through the course as quickly as others.

What people have said about our adult craft sessions....

It gave me confidence.

I tried the crafts again once at home.

I really enjoyed it!

I felt more confident in my creativity.

I enjoyed socialising and not feeling isolated.

I would have loved longer time with the sessions.

I wish I had known sooner about the sessions.
