What's On - Find out about the Festival Programme

DBS Timetable

Workshops: 10.30am - 4:30pm

Saturday’s interactive programme features a range of singing workshops in different themes and musical genres, along with wellbeing and creative activities. The highlight of the afternoon will be all voices joining together for the ‘Big Sing’ the main space at Elvet Methodist Church. All singers will learn the three short, simple, a cappella songs in one of the two rehearsals and then form a pop-up mass choir.

Performance: 7 - 9pm

The evening Shine session features performances from Community Choirs & informal sharings of some of the songs learned in the workshops. Ending with all voices joining together again for our ‘Big Sing’ finale. Just like the rest of the festival, the performance is a non-competitive, supportive, inclusive celebration of group singing - welcoming choirs of all shapes, sizes, musical genres and geographical location. There are a limited number of short slots available to choirs to perform their owns songs, so we encourage choirs to register their interest quickly to find out more.

About the Workshops

We have a jam packed schedule with a selection of workshops to choose over the day. During booking you will select which of the three workshop sessions you wish to attend (Rise, Flourish, Thrive) and then select your workshop preferences.

All singers will be automatically allocated a space in one of the rehearsals to learn the three songs for the ‘Big Sing’ unless you are part of a choir who has been learning the songs in advance. If you attend the whole day, you will be allocated  2 workshops and one of your sessions will be the ‘Big Sing’ rehearsal.

How does workshop selection work?
Singers will be allocated to workshops on a first-come-first-served basis, accommodating your favourite preferences whenever possible, whilst taking into account your accessibility needs and the friends you wish to 'link' with to attend together. Our more popular workshops will be placed in our larger venues, or run multiple times during the day and therefore we won't publish the final timetable of which workshops are running in which venues until the week of the festival.

Workshop Programme

Workshop genres include Musical Theatre, Gospel, Sea Shanties, Song Writing,  Vocal Technique, there's also Singing Walks, Singing for Wellbeing and Singing for Mental Health along with wellbeing and creative activities.

Full details about each workshop will be uploaded here soon. You can still book your ticket to confirm your place and go back to choose workshops preferences later. If you've registered or booked we will tell you when more info is available.
