We're not currently offering one-off singing sessions
Over the summer we offered a number of outdoor singing sessions in the Sunderland Coalfields area. This part of the project has now finished, and we hope that it will return in the future.
Sing your heart out, build confidence & make friends in our feel-good sessions!
Unity is a mixed voice community choir. On a Tuesday night, we are based in the Sunderland Coalfields area of Houghton-le-Spring; half-way between Durham and Sunderland city centres, approximately 7 miles or 15 minutes from both. On a Thursday morning, we are based at Pittington, close to Durham City Centre.
We love helping adults to find their voice and welcome all voices. No experience is necessary and complete beginners are encouraged – especially those who aren’t sure if they can sing! Our friendly vocal tutors teach us how to sing together in a range of musical styles and we leave each session with a smile.
