Rainbow Voices is a brand-new, online singing project filled with a colourful mix of uplifting songs. The 6 week project is hosted by Unity Choir, replacing our summer outreach programme, when we’d normally be out sharing our singing with our local community. Open to adults from across the UK & beyond, all are welcome even if you’ve never sang before or regularly sing with other choirs.

This ‘pay as you feel’ project is 100% online & requires no ongoing commitment, singers can join the sessions that suit them. Each session costs us £5 per singer to deliver, however we encourage you to pay as you feel or are able during these difficult times.

WHAT TO EXPECT?
These weekly sessions will give us a space to connect, escape, unwind, recharge and reflect on the extraordinary times we are living through. We’ll sing a wide range of musical styles including pop, musical theatre, gospel & world song – with a mixture of well-known tunes and new-found favourites. The heart-warming songs have been specially chosen to lift our spirits, shining a ray of hope during these difficult times. You’ll have access to lyric sheets and rehearsal tracks via our website and be invited to join our Facebook community.

If you haven’t sung online yet, we will be offering technical support along with a ‘cuppa & natter’ from 7pm each week, so there’s plenty of time to socialise too. We’ve already helped over 100 singers access online sessions since March so even if you’re not very tech savvy we will soon be able to get you set up.

WHAT DOES IT COST?
The 6 sessions start on Tuesday 9th June with ‘pay as you feel’ booking, giving you the option to decide if and what you donate. You can join in with the whole project or just drop into the sessions that work for you – we know that life needs to be flexible for us all right now. You’ll be able to listen to recordings of any of the songs you miss in between sessions via our website.

The Singing Elf is a Social Enterprise, our online programme is not currently receiving any funding other than donations from singers. Each session costs us approximately £5 per singer to deliver and therefore we suggest a donation of £30 for the 6-week project. Donations can be made as a lump sum or instalments at a time that suits each singer.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
This is a live digital session, you can log on from any location via any mobile device, laptop or computer with an internet connection. It’s quick & easy to download the free Zoom app we will be using. Don’t worry if you’re not very techie – we’ll provide full instructions and guide you through the process. To take part you just need to be able to hear sound from your device, a camera to be seen and microphone to be heard. If you’re using a mobile device or laptop these are often built-in features. HOW DO I LOG ON?
STEP 1: Purchase ticket from the website Box Office – you’ll receive the ticket by email with the zoom link & password
STEP 2: Download Zoom – make sure you have an up to date version of Zoom here
STEP 3: Visit Resources Page – to access the lyric sheets & rehearsal tracks
STEP 3: Log on – via the link in your ticket from 7pm
